CLASSIC OR PAVE, WHAT SHORT IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Blue PadFor every stick-thin, head-down, shaven legged racer speeding across the tarmac there is a sandal-wearing, bearded randonneur. For every cafe run pootler, there is a mountain biker heading for the trails.

Bib shorts are a fantastic invention although, initially, you could feel faintly ridiculous in them. You might want to try them on alone before subjecting your other half to the sight of you in what could be described as a sporting version of lederhosen.

FROM SEOUL TO SHANGHAI

Shanghai Bike ShopAfter arriving just after 8pm from a very bumpy flight, the airport looked pretty closed down so it was a case of finding a desk to get a car to take me to the hotel. In theory, it seemed like this should be a fairly straightforward process but it took until 9:30pm! I logged on to the hotel wifi but my email was not working very well. I put it down to a bad wifi connection (as is often the case with hotels) and went to bed.
