OBSESSIVE CYCLING DISORDER

  • Do you have OCD?
  • Tea break

Your morning alarm sounds, waking you from your slumber, stumbling you fumble for the bathroom light. You peel both straps of your bibs from your shoulders, freeing yourself to do the things you need to do first, first thing in the morning. Half awake now you move into the kitchen, fill the kettle and pop your energy bars into the toaster. Warmed by a soothing hot energy drink and compressed oats you spray yourself with degreaser before sponging down and drying. Your ironed business shirt fits snuggly over your heart rate monitor and less comfortably over your merino arm warmers. You choose the helmet which best matches your tie and you’re ready for the bus to work.

You’re a cycling obsessive and we can say only one thing to you. Chapeau!

We’re incredibly excited to launch our Spring / Summer 2016 range, a tribute to you - the obsessive cyclist. In some way or another we have all been guilty of own cycling obsessions; the colours we wear, the ride food we carry, our Strava records or how clean our jockey wheels are. We noticed the lines between on and off the bike blur for cyclists. When we work hard we’re "full gas", when we’re hungry we’ve “bonked” and if you’re due a compliment, then "Chapeau!".

For the cycling obsessive

For that reason we decided that our 2016 Lookbook should champion these obsessions. We don’t always ride on mountains, we don’t always suffer and we don’t always stare at our bike computers —but we’re almost always cyclists.

With our latest collection we wanted to satisfy our obsessions, we’ve explored new fabrics and finishes to create cycling apparel that performs as well as it looks. The year ahead is a really exciting time for Chapeau, with our brand refresh launching alongside our Spring / Summer range and many new products moving from the cutting table into production.

We’re looking forward to the cycle of Ride. Relax. Repeat.

Chapeau! to fellow sufferers of Obsessive Cycling Disorder.
