Tempo II Thermal Jersey

Hoop Stripe - Black

Why we made this:

A new and improved take on our much-loved Tempo Thermal Jersey. The Tempo is a warm, comfortable and stylish 3-seasons jersey that combines great features and a great price.

Our new Tempo is presented with an improved fabric that’s more comfortable than ever and much better at taking the edge off a chilly wind and keeping you warm when it matters.

Wear it as an outer layer in the spring or tucked under a jacket in the deepest, darkest.

Made from luxurious fleece-backed fabric in a variety of classy designs, the Chapeau! Thermal Tempo jersey is a must for powering on into winter and out the other side. The Tempo jersey looks good and works without hassle.

Building on everything we learned from our original Tempo jersey, version II is presented with a new-and-improved yarn-dyed fabric. The jersey now has a more comfortable, more luxurious feel and is significantly better at taking the bite out of those icy cold-winds.

The new Tempo is a 3-season do-it-all that will be the mainstay of your Layercake. Wear it as an outer layer when short sleeves just won’t cut it or add a base layer when the temperature really starts to dip. For the bleak midwinter, it’ll hide cosily under an outer shell to keep your layer-game strong. Whilst the Tempo isn’t a full-strength wind-breaker, it’ll keep you warm in the wind and reduce those “sorry chaps, I’ve got to stop and pop my jacket on!” moments.

It has three large yet supportive rear pockets for your gear and a silicone gripper to help keep things help in place. There’s also a subtle reflective badge to help keep you safe in the dark.

The fit is regular when worn over a base layer.

The Tempo jersey is the little brother to the Club jersey, designed to keep you warm and comfortable at a slightly lower price. Upgrading to Club gets you a slimmer, racier fit with a DWR water-resistant finish on the Pattern version and a more luxurious, quicker drying fabric on the Colour Block version. Our Club thermal jerseys also include zip guards and a water-resistant, zip-up rear security pocket.

Perfect for those. early morning spring rides

I've been a fan of Chapeau for nearly ten years now and the bib shorts, vest and rain jacket I bought back then are still in great condition and performing. I've needed a long sleeve jersey for a while now, arm warmers were becoming de rigour rather than optional items stuffed in the middle back pocket, but I was always a little concerned how warm to go, I already have a great winter jacket that I can layer up and lots of short sleeved summer jerseys so what's the balance? The Tempo II works perfectly, it's soft fabric is perfect for those morning rides when its 5 - 10 degrees and overcast when it's just a bit too chilly for short sleeved normal lycra jerseys, so perfect additional to the kit bag. Bravo Chapeau!

Fitting AdviceThe fit is intended to be regular, but as the fabric is quite stretchy if you prefer a slim fit, you can safely size down compared to our size guide chest sizes.

We advise you to compare these flat measurements to a comparable garment (do not compare a jacket to a base layer for example) that you already own and like the fit of to help you work out which size to order from us. However, please remember this is a guide only - 2 garments with same flat dimensions but made of fabrics of different stretch will fit you very differently. If you'd rather buy 2 sizes and send the one back that doesn't fit, this is fine by us!
